Gitina Lupi 2017

Unverbindliche Preisempfehlung: €38

Riesling de Rorbach Cru was born from grapes harvested late, at the end of November, on the hill with the best sun exposure in a space with an impressive history. At the time, from 1887 to 1940, there was a German village called Rorbah, where there was a monastery of monks who practiced the art of wine. For this purpose, they chose the hill with the best sun exposure and planted vines, authentic clones brought from Germany, producing the best riesling on Moldavian soil, according to German secular traditions. After the Second World War, all the inhabitants of the settlement were repatriated. Since 1953, the village is called Romanovca, the monastery on the hill has been ruined by landslides, but as a proof of the existence of the town of Rorbah, we find a commemorative marble plaque. Gitana Winery has recovered this ancient vineyard, planted by the monks from Rohrbach, and, since 2011, replanted the area. Riesling de Rorbach CRU wine, wine by weight, was obtained from the grapes of this wonderful vine.
